EE Seminar 1 is the official start of the Extended Essay process. Before this seminar you should have

  • Read the Introduction to the IB Extended Essay LibGuide
  • Thought of three possible topics for your EE

EE Seminar 2: Tuesday January 12th, 2021

IT workshop 1: Friday 22nd January, 2021

IT Workshop 1

During this workshop you will learn how to create citations and bibliographies in Microsoft Word (or Zotero, for iPad users and those not using Word) that meet the IB's referencing standards.

After the workshop, you can access support with creating citations and bibliographies on the Citing and Referencing (APA) Libguide, including IT helpsheets for both PCs and Mac users.

EE Investigation Days: Wednesday 24th - Friday 26th February, 2021

EE Investigation Days

During the EE Investigation Days you get three days off timetable to start investigating your topic - finding and working with sources and/or planning experiments and data collection. It is vital you make good use of these days as this is your springboard to getting started with your EE, and the last formal, organised support you will have until the Writing Days in May. The resources and links on this page are intended to help you to make the most of this time.

EE Seminar 3 and IT workshop 2 (followed by Writing Days)

Seminar 3 will cover:

  • The formal presentation requirements of the EE
  • Academic writing
  • Constructing your understanding as you prepare to write

 

It will focus on the Expressing your ideas tab. After the Seminar you should go to the Library to work through the IT workshop 2 videos on your own device.
