Guide to the Smallbone Library and its services: Contact us

Talk to us

For most queries or suggestions, the easiest solution is to come and talk to us. The downstairs issue desk is usually the first point of contact, but any of the Library staff would be very happy to help you.

Main Library phone number: 01572 758 647

(It would be very unusual for a pupil to call us, so this is mainly provided for the benefit of parents, staff and external visitors)

Email us

If you would rather contact us by email, use the information below to decide which of the team to contact.

Note that while we will always try to respond promptly to queries, as we run a seven day service none of our staff is in school every day. If your query is urgent, please use the general library email address.

General enquiries

The general library email address is checked frequently during open hours, and emails to this address will be forwarded to the appropriate member of staff: library@oakham.rutland.sch.uk

New book requests

  • Contact the Library if you have a good book to recommend which we do not currently stock.

Current loans or overdues

  • Renew your item(s): if your items are not yet overdue you may be able to renew them yourself from your online account (see instructions here). Otherwise, contact Library. Note that items which have been out for a long time may need to be physically brought to the Library for renewal - we will let you know if this is the case.
  • Report a lost or damaged item: Contact Miss O'Hanlon (BOH)
  • Discuss an item you are receiving overdue emails for: Contact Miss O'Hanlon (BOH)

Support with inquiry work

Ask for support with finding or using resources in your work, including print and online resources. This may include support with formatting academic work (e.g. tables of contents, headers and footers) or citing and referencing.
