Welcome to the Library! This guide provides an introduction to the combination of people, places, collections and services that make up the Smallbone Library.
It contains guides to:
- Using our different spaces, which gives you a tour of the physical space explaining what you can expect to find on each floor of our multi-space two-storey building, purpose built with great vision and foresight in 1994. This page also gives a summary of the Rules and Expectations for using the different spaces.
- Finding and Using our Resources - both print and electronic. This tab contains a number of helpful step-by-step video guides and includes:
- How to contact us. This page explains the different roles of the eight Library staff and gives general contact details as well as who to contact with specific queries, suggestions and book recommendations.
While you can probably find the answers to most of your questions about using the Library in this guide, the best way to get to know the Library is to use it and we hope to see you frequently during your time at Oakham. We are deeply committed to our purpose of enabling understanding through reading and believe strongly in learning through inquiry.
