Click & Collect Service: Home

Books and other items in the library collection remain available to borrow through our Click & Collect service.  If you would like to make use of this service, please read the details below carefully and follow the steps to reserve the books you would like to borrow.  Books reserved by 6pm will be available by the following morning.  Middle and Upper School pupils, as well as staff, should collect in person from the library.  Books for Lower School pupils will be delivered to houses by Break.

Step 1: Choose the book(s) you would like to borrow

You may already know what you would like to borrow from the library, and that we have a copy of these books. If so, proceed to Step 2.

If you do not know what you want, there are a number of options:

• Have a look at our reading suggestions page for ideas, both recreational and academic, across all areas of the school, including staff.
• Browse the catalogue as you would within school, searching using titles, authors or keywords.  If you would like a reminder about how to do this, have a look at our guide to searching the Library Catalogue.
• If all else fails, and you are really stuck for what to read, send us an email and we will try to help.  

Step 2: Reserve your book(s)

When you know what you would like to borrow, you need to place reservations on the item(s) using Heritage, the Library online catalogue.  If you are unsure how to do this, have a look at our guide to reserving items.

Step 3: Collecting your books

When your books have been picked from the shelves and are ready for collection, you should receive an email from library@oakham.rutland.sch.uk. 

If you are a Middle or Upper School pupil, or a member of staff, come to the Smallbone Library to collect your books which will be waiting for you at the Issue Desk.  Please can we ask that you wear your face mask when entering the library and while collecting.

If you are a pupil in Lower School, your book(s) will be delivered to you in house.
