Academic Extension: Home

Academic Extension

Reading in its broadest sense, which includes texts in multimedia formats, contributes directly and indirectly to your academic success. At its most basic, reading is a skill, and as with other skills, the more you practise the better you will get. However, reading also furnishes your mind with ideas to work with and build on, so in this sense, the more you read the more sophisticated your intellectual constructions can become.

The resources for Form 5 and Form 7 Extension in the tabs above have been thoughtfully selected by each Department to stimulate inquiry and stir passion.

For books, we have tried in all cases to list editions of that are readily available and affordable, although in most cases a different edition will be equally suitable. For titles that are part of series, we have listed the first in the series; where the order of the series does not matter, any title in the series is perfectly acceptable. Lastly, this list is not meant to be restrictive because any reading towards and around the subjects that you are interested in will bear good fruit.

The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.
