Welcome to the Virtual Smallbone Library’s online guide for students and staff. Here you will find information, resources and inspiration that will allow you to make the most of all that the Library has to offer while the school is closed. Please use the tabs above to navigate your way around the site. If you cannot find what you are looking for please send us an email.
We are pleased to announce our Click & Collect service which will allow pupils and staff to borrow books from the library over the summer holiday. If you would like to make use of this service, please read the details below carefully and follow the steps to reserve the books you would like to borrow, and to book a slot for the collection of your books during the last week of term.
Please do not return any items that you already have on loan when you collect your reservations.
Step 1: Choose the book(s) you would like to borrow
You may already know what you would like to borrow from the library, and that we have a copy of these books. If so, proceed to Step 2.
If you do not know what you want, there are a number of options:
Step 2: Reserve your book(s)
When you know what you would like to borrow, you need to place reservations on the item(s). The tab above entitled 'Searching for and reserving items on the Library Catalogue' will help you do this if you are unsure.
Step 3: Book a Click & Collect slot
Once you have reserved your book(s), you need to choose a time when you would like to collect them during the last three days of term. Please remember you will only be able to collect books if you have booked a slot and the library will not be open for browsing the shelves nor for asking for additional books. You are, however, free to reserve books until 6pm on Sunday 21st June.
Step 4: Collecting your books
Come to the Smallbone Library on the day and time booked to collect your books from the tables either in the foyer or outside - depending on the weather. Please ensure you have let us know who is collecting the books, if it is not you, and have sent us any emails necessary, as set out in the booking form.
Please do not return any items that you already have on loan when you collect your reservations.
You can reserve books between now and 6pm on Sunday 21st June 2020. Once you have reserved your books, don't forget to book a collection slot and gain any necessary permissions if you are collecting for someone else, or asking someone else to collect for you.
Books can be collected from the library between 15.00 and 18.00 on Weds 24th, Thursday 25th or Friday 26th June 2020 BUT only if you have pre-booked a collection slot on these days.
Please do not return any items that you already have on loan when you collect your reservations.
